Our Verdict
The CCELL TH2 cartridge and Rizo 510 battery are winners in my book. As a combo they deliver an excellent experience for oils and distillates, but they are great even as individual pieces.
The TH2 cartridge is a very flavorful cartridge, and the ceramic heating core provides smooth, dense, and consistent draws every time. The Rizo battery is compact, has good build quality, and functions as you would expect. The only thing that I dislike about the Rizo is the constant haptic feedback while you draw but you'll have to decide for yourself if that's reason enough to pass on what is otherwise a great 510 battery.

For those of you who don't know, CCELL specializes in 510 thread cartridges and batteries for cannabinoid-related use, but they also make pod systems and disposable vapes.
CCELL is perhaps best known for their ceramic heating cores, and they were the first company to introduce a ceramic heating component to the global market. Nowadays, ceramic coils are a staple for vaporizing THC and CBD concentrates and oils and CCELL continues to be a pioneer in this sector.
The Rizo is a 510 battery that is compatible with all 510 threaded cartridges. It's a compact device with two power levels and it also has haptic feedback. The Rizo packs a 300mAh battery and recharges with Type-C charging. Cartridges easily attach to the Rizo with the use of the included 510 thread magnetic adapter.
One cartridge that is compatible with the Rizo is CCELL's own TH2 refillable cartridge. The TH2 is sold separately but pairs perfectly with the Rizo. It has both 0.5ml and 1ml capacity options, and is compatible with THC and CBD distillates and vape oils. This cartridge has a standard 510 thread and uses CCELL's proprietary ceramic heating element for purer flavor and more potency from your concentrates. It’s also advertised as being zero maintenance and anti-leak.

Design & Build Quality: CCELL Rizo 510 Battery
The Rizo is a super sleek 510 battery. It has a rectangular shape with rounded sides and edges that looks modern and attractive. Like many other 510 batteries nowadays, it's also very small and compact. The Rizo is 62.7mm tall, 34mm wide, and 14.8mm deep. It's basically the same height as a typical 510 thread cart and just thick enough to house one.
This sleek design and compact size are exactly what you want from a 510 battery. It's easy to hide in the palm of my hand when I want to be discreet, and it's small enough to go into my pocket with ease. I can pull it out, take a few draws, and put it back in my pocket all without being obvious to anyone around me and that's a huge plus.
The body is made of aluminum, zinc alloy, PC, and silicone. The paint on the body is a satin finish and both sides have a glossy black band that runs around the faces.
On my silver review unit “CCELL” is printed on one side. On my black unit, it says “Powered by CCELL”. Note that these units are marked as samples and I've been told that the production versions with both say “CCELL” only. Branding is kept to a minimum and overall, the look of these is clean and simple.
At the top of the Rizo there is an LED indicator. This LED is a single bar that lights up in 3 parts to indicate your current battery life. Next to this LED is where you insert the cartridge. The Rizo is compatible with all 510 thread cartridges when you use the included 510 thread adapter.
This adapter screws onto the bottom of your cartridge and allows you to drop it into the Rizo for a magnetic connection — no need to screw it into the battery. It's really easy to insert or remove cartridges and this is something that I really like about the Rizo, as opposed to 510 batteries where you have to screw in the cartridge.
Once a cartridge is inserted, the magnetic connection is strong and prevents the cartridge from coming out accidentally. Another plus of this magnetic connection is that you can rotate the cartridge to draw on it in whatever direction you find most comfortable.
The Rizo has haptic feedback, and it will vibrate when you insert a cartridge. It will also vibrate constantly while you draw. While I can appreciate that it gives some feedback that the device is functioning while I draw, the vibrating is also a bit bothersome. I would have liked to see a way where you can turn off the haptic feedback but unfortunately there's no way to do so.
On the bottom of the Rizo there is a silicone plug. Removing this plug reveals a Type-C charging port, as well as a switch for changing the power level. There are two power settings on the Rizo: H and L. High will output 3.3V and low will output 2.8V. CCELL states that low is better used with live resin or other HTE/high viscosity extracts, while high is better for clouds and potency.
Apart from this power level switch, there are no buttons or settings to adjust on the Rizo. Drop in a cartridge, draw on the mouthpiece, and you're in business. It's a very simple 510 battery to use and vape with.
The build quality is also excellent. In my two weeks using the Rizo I could not find a single thing to fault the build quality. The paint is good, the magnetic connection is strong, and it just feels like a solid and well-made device.
CCELL TH2 Cartridge
The TH2 Cartridge is sold separately from the Rizo 510 battery. However, CCELL advises that you use the TH2 cartridge (or any one of their other cartridges) with the Rizo in order to get the best performance possible.
The TH2 is, as far as cartridges go, pretty standard, but it does have a few nice qualities. It will hold either 0.5ml or 1.0ml depending on which version of the TH2 you get. I myself am using the 1.0ml versions for this review.
The TH2 has a ceramic mouthpiece that stays cool no matter how much you vape on it. This mouthpiece screws on or off in order to fill the tank. In order to create a tight seal, the part of the mouthpiece that connects with the tank has silicone all along the underside and this effectively prevents any material from leaking out the top of the tank.
Inside the TH2 is CCELL's proprietary ceramic heating core. There are four large inlet holes on the side of the coil that lead straight to the core. This ceramic core has no wicking material and the ceramic functions as both the wick and the coil. I'll go in-depth on the performance in the “Performance” section of this review down below.
The TH2 has a standard 510 threaded connection that is compatible with any 510 thread battery.
Performance
As a combo, the TH2 Cartridge and Rizo 510 battery perform excellently with oils and distillates. I used a high potency THC oil, as well as a CBD distillate with the TH2 and both wicked without an issue. The ceramic heating core does not take long at all to heat up my materials and provides dense, strong vapor from the first draw.
I like to take longer draws when using THC/CBD and this can be an issue with cartridges that use wicks. This is not the case with the ceramic core in the TH2. I can draw for pretty well as long as I like without any sort of issue or dry hit. I think that this is due to the large inlet holes and the fact that the oil//distillate keeps pretty consistent contact with the ceramic core at all times.
Another thing about the ceramic core is that it doesn't make the vapor too hot, even on the “H” setting and with taking long draws. Draws are consistently smooth and warm.
The Rizo is similarly an excellent device. The draw activation is spot on. You don’t have to pull too hard to get it to activate and it works consistently, every time. It's just so easy to use and that's one thing that I really like about it. Just drop in a cartridge and draw on the mouthpiece and you’re getting vapor.
I preferred using the Rizo on the high setting most of the time because I like the denser and fuller draws that it provides. Although it's only outputting 3.3V on this setting, it's a strong draw even with non-CCELL cartridges.
As I mentioned earlier, one thing that I do not particularly like is the haptic feedback. It gets a little annoying that it's vibrating constantly while you're taking a draw. If there was a way to turn this off, then I would be a happy camper.
